Bihar Boys Win All Bengal Sub Junior Cricket Tournament at Jagarani Sangha

Webdesk, TNI Siliguri, 01st January, 2016: Finally, the day has arrived after 2 years. As 2015-16 didn’t feature the Jagarani Sub Junior Cricket tournament, hence, the expectation of the crowd was huge especially for the ending featuring the ending ceremony fireworks from Raj Fireworks of Siliguri. Over to cricket, it was an opportunity for Cricket Academy of Bihar (CAB) to mesmerize the tournament and they did it enjoyingly. Winning the toss this time CAB elected to bat against the Baharampur’s Friends Union Cricket Coaching Centre (FUCCC). CAB made a whopping 185 runs for 7 wickets.

Highest was Ritik Rajesh with 63 runs not out. Second highest was the all-rounder Yashaswi Sukhla with 58 runs. It was always difficult for FUCCC to chase the run pile under the lights but it made good effort losing 9 wickets ending in 128 runs, short of 58 runs to the cup. Tapash Ghosh made a fighting 73 runs but became short of partners. The highlight was again Yashaswi Sukhla with 3 wickets for CAB. Thus CAB won the 17th Editing of the All Bengal Day-Night Sub Junior Knock Out Cricket Tournament here at Jagarani Sangha. The man of the match was expectedly Yashaswai Sukla for his all-round performance.

Since it was the final match this season the special dignitaries present on the occasion were the Honorable MIC Tourism Mr. Gautam Deb, Counselor of 23 No. Ward Mr. Krishna Chandra Paul, TMC leader Mr. Madan Bhattacharya, TMYC leader Mr. Bikash Sarkar and others. After the prize distribution, the fireworks lit up the sky and mesmerized the spectators, who come every year to the ground to witness the sky show. It was indeed a spectacular show keeping aside the delay occurred for setting up the firework poles.
